Meet Zoe (16 years old) and Femi (14 years old), 2 participants from our previous Junior Digital Entrepreneur Camp (JDEC). We had a chat with them about their experience attending the JDEC program.
You see, it all began with a bit of friendly persuasion from none other than my dear mom. She insisted that immersing myself in the world of coding through the program would be an incredible opportunity and a good way to utilize my break. I must confess that initially, I had my reservations. I thought to myself, "Is this just going to feel like another extension of school?. But I registered because my mom insisted.
Initially, I must admit, the start of the program felt unexciting. I found it somewhat boring, to be honest. However, as time went on and I delved deeper into the program, something changed. The journey became more captivating, different, and incredibly interesting. I started to embrace the skills I was learning and found joy in seeing my creations come alive online. It was truly an amazing experience from start to finish.
Zoe: What I enjoyed the most about the JDEC program was the opportunity to collaborate with complete strangers
and witness the magic that unfolded as we worked together. It was truly remarkable to see how,
despite our different backgrounds, we could come together and create something truly amazing.
Femi: The camp was very hands-on. I enjoyed being able to create my own ideas through an online platform and be guided along the way by the instructors who were very happy to help me.
After completing the program, I have actively utilized and practiced the skills I gained. Regularly using WordPress, I ensure my skills remain sharp while also exploring other low-code platforms like Wix. The program not only provided me with valuable knowledge but also fueled my desire to continue learning and embracing new technologies.
The program is super cool and totally worth it! Imagine being able to create your own websites and bring your creative ideas to life. Plus, it opens up exciting career opportunities for the future because I am now more passionate about technology. And guess what? The learning never stops because technology is always changing, so you'll always be on top of the latest trends. Not to mention, you'll get to meet and collaborate with other cool people who share your interests.
